Client FAQ

Browse answers to our most frequently asked client questions – from pricing and availability, to travel, corporate rates, and what to expect on the day of your appointment.

Booking & Availability

How far in advance to book, last-minute options, and more.

We recommend booking as early as possible—especially for weekends, holidays, and peak wedding/event seasons. However, you can submit a booking request 24/7 online, and our system will show you the earliest available dates and times in your service area.

In many cities, yes. If artists are available in your service area, you can often book same-day or last-minute. Submit the online form and our team will match you with the nearest qualified artist(s) and confirm as quickly as possible.

Absolutely. We regularly staff larger teams for bridal parties, events, and corporate bookings. When you complete your reservation, simply indicate how many hair and makeup services you need and for how many people. Our team will schedule the appropriate number of artists to keep your timeline on track.

If you need to update details (time, location, services, headcount), simply reply to your confirmation email or contact us through our Contact page. Our booking team will review your changes, confirm availability, and send an updated confirmation.

Yes. If you have a preferred artist, please include their name in the notes section of your booking form. We’ll check their calendar first and confirm if they’re available for your date and time. If they’re not available, we’ll recommend similar artists in your area.

For Weddings & Events, rates and service options are displayed directly on the booking form. Artist assignment happens after your reservation is submitted, based on availability and best fit.

If you need to review portfolios before committing, note that in your form and our team can share options from our network of artists in your market before finalizing your booking.

Artists & Portfolios

How we vet, assign, and back up artists for your booking.

Once your reservation is submitted, our system notifies vetted artists in your service area who match your date, time, and service needs. Artists confirm their availability and interest, and our office assigns the artist(s) who best fit your booking and budget.

You’ll then receive a confirmation email with your booking details and assigned artist information.

Yes. Beauty Studio works with a large network of professional, pre-vetted artists nationwide. Where required by state law, artists maintain appropriate licensing and insurance. We review portfolios, experience, and professionalism before they are invited into our network.

Yes. If you have a specific style in mind, mention it in your booking form and attach or link inspiration photos if possible. We can recommend artists whose portfolios align with your preferred look—such as natural glam, full glam, textured or curly styling, Hollywood waves, or commercial-ready looks.

Our network is built with backup coverage in mind. If an artist has an emergency or becomes unavailable, our team immediately works to assign another qualified artist in your area, and we’ll notify you of the change as soon as possible.

True emergencies are rare, but if they happen, our focus is always on providing you with reliable backup coverage and clear communication.

Where we can go, travel fees, and custom travel options.

Most likely, yes. Beauty Studio is a national agency with coverage in 56+ city markets (and growing). You can search the nearest location to you on our Book Now page.

If your city isn’t listed, we also offer custom travel. For custom travel quotes, contact a booking agent via our Contact page.

Yes. Our artists routinely work in hotels, Airbnbs, venues, corporate offices, and production locations. If your location requires special instructions (parking, gate codes, security check-in, loading docks, etc.), please include those details in your booking so we can plan accordingly.

Weddings & Events

Bridal parties, trials, timelines, and large groups.

Minimums vary by city, date, and season. Any minimum service requirements for your selected date will be clearly shown on the Weddings / Events booking form when you choose your city and service type.

Yes. We specialize in large group bookings and can staff multiple artists to complete services within your timeline. When booking, indicate the total number of hair and makeup services needed and your ideal timing, and we’ll build a schedule around that.

Yes. Early-morning bookings are available in most markets and may include an additional early start fee depending on the time. Any applicable fees will display during the booking process before you confirm.

Yes. You can add touch-up time or a second look (for example, a different evening hairstyle) to your reservation. Your artist can stay through photos, ceremony, reception, outfit changes, or other key moments—just let us know your needs on the booking form.

Corporate & Production

On-set rates, teams, and corporate requirements.

In many cases, yes—especially in major markets. Submit an On-Set / Corporate request with your timing, location, and project details and we’ll let you know quickly what coverage is possible.

For corporate and production work, we typically offer:

  • Hourly rates – usually with a 2-hour minimum.
  • Half-day rates – commonly around 4 hours of coverage.
  • Full-day rates – commonly around 8 hours of coverage.

Your quote will be customized based on call times, number of talent, required looks, location, and any special requirements (such as multiple locations or pre-production styling).

Yes. If your venue or company requires a Certificate of Insurance or additional insured language, we can provide this upon request. Please mention it in your corporate inquiry so we can build it into the process and timeline.

Absolutely. We regularly staff teams for conferences, multi-day shoots, large events, and high-volume projects. Share your schedule, headcount, and scope and we’ll recommend the right team size and structure a quote around it.

Payments & Policies

How payments work, deposits, and cancellation terms.

All bookings are processed through our secure online checkout. We accept major credit and debit cards. For larger corporate projects, alternative payment arrangements may be available through invoicing, subject to approval.

Yes. A deposit is required to secure your reservation and block our artists’ calendars for your date and time. The remaining balance is typically charged based on the payment schedule displayed when you book (for example, prior to the appointment date).

Payments are subject to Beauty Studio’s cancellation policy, which is shown at checkout before you confirm. In many cases, payments are non-refundable but transferable to a future date if you need to reschedule within the allowed window.

Our policies vary slightly based on service type and market, but they are always clearly displayed during the online booking process. You’ll see the exact cancellation and reschedule terms for your appointment before you submit payment and in your confirmation email.

Some peak dates, holidays, or very early start times may include additional fees. If any apply to your booking, they will be clearly shown in your quote or on the booking form before you confirm— there are no surprise fees added later.

Day-of Appointment

How to prepare, how long services take, and what to expect on site.

We generally recommend:

  • Arriving with clean, dry hair (washed the night before is ideal for most styles).
  • A clean, moisturized face with no makeup on.
  • Having any inspiration photos ready to show your artist.
  • Ensuring there’s a comfortable, well-lit space for the artist to set up.

Average timing is:

  • Makeup: 45–60 minutes per person.
  • Hair: 45–60 minutes per person.

Times can vary slightly based on the complexity of the look and the amount of hair. For larger groups, our team will build a schedule to keep everything running smoothly.

In most cases, washing your hair the night before your appointment works best. Very freshly washed hair can sometimes be more difficult to style, but your artist can advise based on your hair type and chosen look. If a different prep is needed, we’ll let you know in advance.

A small checklist:

  • A clean area with a table or counter for products.
  • A chair and access to an outlet, if possible.
  • Good natural lighting or a well-lit room (our artists may also bring additional lighting).
  • Any accessories, veils, or hairpieces you’d like incorporated into the look.

Yes. Many of our artists are experienced with styling clip-ins and other extensions. Please bring them brushed and ready to apply. Some markets may include a small additional fee for extension placement or styling—this can be discussed when you book.

Absolutely. Inspiration photos are very helpful. Your artist will use them as a guide and adapt the look to your features, skin tone, hair type, and event needs so it’s both flattering and achievable.

Products, Safety & Other Questions

Products we use, tipping, insurance, and confirmations.

Our artists use professional-grade products that perform well both in person and on camera. If you have allergies, sensitivities, or specific ingredient concerns, please let us know when booking and remind your artist on the day of your appointment so they can choose or adjust products accordingly.

Yes. If you prefer to use your own skincare, foundation, or other items, your artist is usually happy to incorporate them into the service. Please place them out and discuss your preferences at the start of the appointment.

Gratuity is not automatically included unless otherwise noted on your invoice. Tips are never required, but always appreciated for exceptional service. Most clients choose to tip artists directly at the end of the appointment in cash or via a personal digital method if offered by the artist.

Yes. Beauty Studio carries professional liability insurance, and we can provide documentation or Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for venues and corporate partners when requested in advance.

Yes. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a detailed confirmation email that includes your date, time, location, services, and any notes relevant to your appointment. We recommend reviewing it carefully and saving it for easy reference.

If you expect to be late, please contact us or your artist (through the channel provided in your confirmation) as soon as possible. Your artist will do their best to accommodate, but late arrivals may shorten the service time in order to keep the day on schedule—especially for wedding parties and corporate events with hard deadlines.
